Student Experiences
Pre-K through 2nd graders work with visiting artists during arts integration lessons (drama, music, and visual arts). 1st and 2nd graders learn violin through a partnership with the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. 3rd through 6th graders choose arts elective classes which include opportunities to work with community artists (show choir, drama, dance, world music, digital arts, keyboards, and more). In addition, Fairview has a very active Robotics Club and Student Council.

Community Partnership
Fairview engages with and benefits from a rich variety of community partners. We partner with Ferguson Crestmont Boys and Girls Club, Lincoln Street Boys and Girls Club, and the Banneker Center for our after-school tutoring, enrichment, and care. In addition to the community artists, we also partner with the Lotus Education and Arts Foundation to bring Lotus Blossom music artists to our school and to host the Lotus Blossoms World Bazaar for all fourth-grade students in the MCCSC.
Along with partnering with the Indiana University (IU) Jacobs School of Music for the Fairview Violin Project, we also partner with IU in other ways. This includes IU athletes to serve as visiting tutors or participating with students at recess. Students in the IU School of Education also complete field placements and practicum experiences at our school. The College Mentors program provides additional opportunities for students after school. Catholic Charities and Centerstone provide counseling services during the school day at Fairview.
